On-street parking
On-street parking around the station is made difficult by the station’s central location within the Birmingham’s Inner City Controlled Parking Zone. Parking on-street within this zone is limited to pay-and-display spaces, in which drivers may stay no longer than 2 hours on all days during times of operation (from 8am-7.30pm, every day). There are many spaces available in and around the city centre, but the hourly fares are quite high – so it may be worth considering using off-street car parks or on-street options away from the city centre (and station) if necessary.

There is an on-site Short Stay car park operated by APCOA Parking, located just off Navigation Street on the approach to the station’s main entrance. It is free to park for up to 20 minutes, but be aware that there are a limited number of spaces available – and fares for any stay longer than an hour become very costly.

Alternatively, NCP operate an off-street car park more or less on-site which offers hundreds of spaces with convenient close access to and from the station. Birmingham Grand Central car park (Queens Drive, Birmingham, B5 4DQ) is open 24 hours a day, Monday-Sunday, and offers a reasonable hourly rate for its central location – but its daily rate is quite pricey.

Disabled parking is available in relative abundance at the NCP Grand Central car park, with a number of spaces and good facilities on offer.

Disabled drivers displaying their Blue Badge can park for free and with no maximum stay in any of the city’s on-street pay-and-display spaces.

Blue Badge holders may also park on single or double yellow lines for up to 3 hours, as long as there is no celar obstruction to bus routes or any loading bans signalled on location.
