Information about parking near the Etihad Stadium
The Etihad stadium is located in the East of Manchester, both a short drive away from the city centre and the M60 Outer Ring Road. The stadium lies just by the A6010 road that traces around the majority of the city as a kind of Intermediate Ring Road. The stadium is well signposted and visible for miles around.
On event days, parking on-street around the stadium – and the whole Etihad campus – is only possible for resident permit holders.
Metrolink tram stops also offer a free park and ride service for their customers at various locations around the city. Limited off-street parking is available on-site at the Etihad campus and there are also a handful of off-street car parks nearby.
JustPark provides information on a multitude of parking options nearby, many of which are reservable – including spaces on-street and off-street, from driveways to car parks.
On non-event days, there are no specific parking restrictions in the streets surrounding the stadium and visiting drivers may park on-street without restriction (unless a street is double yellow-lined). However, on event days, a special resident parking scheme comes into force ensuring that only residents are allowed to park on-street in the surrounding area to the whole of the expansive Etihad campus.
These restrictions typically apply 2 hours before and through the duration of any event so make sure you are aware of the event schedule on any visit.
You can use the JustPark parking map to find information on available on-street parking spaces near the Etihad Stadium.
There are a few car parks available on event days but most spaces will be taken up by pre-booked seasonal supporters. Limited pay-on-the-day parking is available in the Blue car parks to the North of the stadium accessible via Alan Turing Way. Parking here is quite expensive but does undoubtedly afford you the best access to and from the stadium.
Another option would be to park in the city centre or near to Manchester Piccadilly station. One such off-street car park is the large Manchester Piccadilly Gardens (Chatham Street, Manchester, M1 3AY). This car park is open from 5.30am-11.30pm Monday-Sunday and is in a great location for Manchester Piccadilly, the city centre and is near to the well signalled event day walking route to the stadium. However, the city centre car parks such as these do also charge a high rate of fare.
Metrolink tram stops throughout the city offer a free park-and-ride service to their paying customers. The nearest park and ride location is Ashton Moss to the East. (Alexandria Drive, Ashton, OL6 7UB).
JustPark offers a range of reservable off-street spaces nearby – in both council and commercially-run car parks, as well as at hotels, offices and on private driveways. You can browse these options and book a guaranteed space via our website or app.

The City of Manchester stadium, now known as the Etihad, was built to serve as an athletics venue as part of Manchester’s successful bid for the 2002 Commonwealth Games. It is now home to Manchester City football club and is part of a larger complex of sporting facilities that collectively play host to major sporting and live music events throughout the year. With the city centre only a short drive away, and this magnificent complex providing so much for visitors including open bars and great hospitality, you’re in a great place for entertainment and things to do.
