Additional Information

Some additional information about parking in twickenham, to cater to all your parking needs

  • On-street parking

On-street parking around Twickenham stadium is largely unrestricted on days where no event is taking place. However, on event days the stadium becomes part of a special Controlled Parking Zone, reaching into the neighbouring London borough of Hounslow, to ensure parking on-street is solely limited to resident permit holders.

Restrictions in this zone are typically enforced from 10am-6pm on event days, but always double-check local signage as times can vary depending on the timing of the event itself.

Some roads will also be closed temporarily before and after events to help pedestrians vacate. Parking on-street near Twickenham on event days is therefore not recommended.

Use the JustPark parking map to find information about on-street spaces near Twickenham which are available for your visit.

  • Off-street parking

There are two main off-street car parks at Twickenham stadium that are only available on event days: West car park (TW2 7RE) and North car park (TW1 1DZ). They are in high demand and there is a limited number of spaces available, so it is highly recommended you pre-book online if this is where you intend on parking.

If attending the stadium on a non-event day, there is a free (for up to 2 hours) short stay car park for visitors to the stadium and the on-site England Rugby store just off Whitton Road.

Hounslow Civic Centre (TW3 4DN) serves as a park and ride site on the majority of event days, providing an accessible shuttle bus to and from the stadium. Be advised that this service is still quite expensive as an alternative, and you may need to pre-book as it is often in high demand.

JustPark offers plenty of reservable off-street parking spaces near Twickenham – in public car parks, as well as on private driveways. You can browse these options and book a guaranteed space via our website or app.

  • Parking restrictions & event days

Parking in this zone during hours of operation is prohibited for all visiting drivers, with spaces on-street reserved solely for resident permit holders. Timings of these restrictions will vary depending on the event itself, so always factor this in before you drive to the stadium. Signposts should indicate when you have entered the CPZ, and further specific event restrictions will be specified on the day.

  • Nearby attractions

Twickenham stadium is, perhaps surprisingly, the 4th largest capacity stadium of any kind in Europe – playing host to some of the biggest games in the Rugby Union calendar, including all of the England national team’s home fixtures. The stadium is located in the leafy suburb of the same name in the glorious London borough of Richmond. If you’re planning on killing time in the area before or after an event, fear not – as you can enjoy a wander down to the nearby Thames, or through any of the parks that grace the borough either side of the water.
