Parking near to Edgbaston cricket ground on event days can be somewhat challenging. On-street parking is largely reserved for resident permit holders and off-street car parks have very limited availability for a 25,000 capacity stadium. Travelling at least part of your journey on foot or by using public transport is recommended.

The streets surrounding the cricket ground are largely permit restricted on major event days but parking restrictions can vary – International Test matches for example are a likely cause for more stringent policing. Generally, on event days, the majority of on-street parking for a sizeable area around the stadium is reserved solely for resident permit holders. Parking on non-event days is in turn, largely unrestricted.

There is parking available when visiting Edgbaston cricket ground on event days but there are very limited spaces that you will have to pre-book well in advance. However, they do recommend that visitors arrive to the stadium via public transport or park further afield.
An off-street option reasonably nearby is at Cannon Hill Park just south of the cricket ground. Cannon Hill Park has no less than 4 car parks which can provide perfect access to the ground. These council-operated locations are generally open from 7am-11:30am and parking charges apply as standard for the duration. The two largest of these are accessible from Pershore Road. Please note that any nearby off-street car parks – including those above – may be subject to special event day restrictions regardless. Edgbaston cricket ground has used the Cannon Hill Park car parks, amongst others, to provide spaces on particularly popular event days such as The Ashes. Always check the event schedule and event-specific parking arrangements.

There aren’t any train stations in the immediate vicinity to Edgbaston cricket ground with the nearest station, Five Ways, being around a 30 minute walk away. If that doesn’t bother you then perhaps more helpfully, Birmingham’s principal train station, Birmingham New Street, is only around 5 minutes more walking and provides expansive services to and from all over the country.
Alternatively, from there you could always hop on the number 45 or 47 bus which runs from the city centre and will take you to within 2 minutes walk away on Pershore Road.
Disabled drivers displaying their Blue Badge can park in the Cannon Hill Park car parks free of charge and for an unlimited amount of time.
Blue Badge holders may park for up to 3 hours on single or double yellow lines provided they are not obstructing traffic or bus routes.
