FAQs on Cambridge Fireworks
Cambridge Fireworks Night takes place on Thursday 5 November 2026 on Midsummer Common. Entertainment starts at 6pm and the fireworks display begins at 7pm. Last year's event moved to a Saturday, but this year it's back on Bonfire Night itself, so expect weeknight traffic on the way in.
The 2026 display is provided by Pains Fireworks, the UK's longest-established firework company, with roots going back centuries. The award-winning team also runs a 100% carbon-neutral operation.
Book a space in the residential streets a short walk from Midsummer Common, around Petersfield, Chesterton or the Mill Road area. The roads right next to the common have been closed during the event in previous years, so parking 10 to 20 minutes away on foot means you avoid the closures and can head straight home once the display ends.
Yes. The event is free and un-ticketed, and more than 25,000 people usually turn up. City-centre spaces are scarce on a normal weeknight, let alone Bonfire Night, so booking with JustPark before you set off lets you lock in a space and know exactly where you're heading.
