  • On-street parking

  • Off-street parking

    Within the car park, charges also apply to vehicles with blue badges. Those with a valid disabled permit may be entitled to an additional hour after expiry of the purchase period, but this only applies to car parks with display and pay machines. Drivers are required to have a badge whenever they are using a reduced mobility space.


    Plymouth’s frequent visitors can obtain a permit, which allows blue-card owners to enjoy free parking in all car parks that belong to the Council, except for Regent Street, The Royal Theatre, Mayflower East, and Western Admission.

  • Public transport

    From Exeter, Plymouth can be reached via the A38. The M5 offers access to Bristol and the A30 enables admission to other parts of the southwest. If you travel by train, Plymouth train station is fully functional and several car parks are nearby.


    The parking fee for Plymouth Station is £10.60 per day. The space provides easy access to the city centre and is suitable for large vehicles (4×4). The car park is available 24 hours a day, with monthly booking options.

  • Disabled parking

    Blue Badge owners are eligible for free parking in designated areas. The restrictions shown on the logo apply to Plymouth Handicapped Parking Enthusiasts, unless the restrictions appear here.

  • Overnight, weekends & bank holidays

    Parking restrictions apply daily from 8am to 6pm while in Plymouth, including weekends. Look out for local signs for holiday restrictions. There are car parks in locations near Plymouth Hoe, Plymouth University, where you can find pocket friendly car parking for short, medium and long-term stays at Plymouth Barbican.

  • Drop-off and pick-up

    As part of the new road alignment, drop-off points are located at the downtown Plymouth roundabout, where the pavement has been reduced and a new shelter has been built. As part of Plymouth City Council’s new coaching service program, they take visitors arriving by bus to the Royal and Barbican Lower Parade.

  • Nearby attractions

    Plymouth has over 30 attractions to choose from. Also, you can explore other nearby attractions, such as theme parks, majestic mansions, amusement parks and gardens, museums, and art galleries. Mount Edgcumbe is a beautiful grand estate worth seeing. Here, history buffs can explore the ancestral houses of Edgcumbe’s Earls during the First World War and attend many exhibitions.
