Parking on Aberdeen Court, NE3

Don’t bother. I booked the parking slot. When I arrived I found a car already parked in it. I knocked on the house door and the owner had forgotten about the booking but did promptly come out and move their car to a space further down the road. I had assumed this was to be a legitimate and safe off road parking slot. In fact it is a ‘space’ in front of a lockup garage that means the parking space is half on the pavement and half on the road! I felt well and truly mugged! The area is close to the rugby ground and there are actually plenty of spaces in the residential streets and on the same road. Don’t bother booking this one would be my advice. In fact I’d question the legality of someone charging for parking on a public road!

We were not able to find the parking space as the booking made through my mobile did not make it clear that the space was at the back of the house amongst lots of garages. Having used this site on a few occasions the spaces have always been outside the relevant house. As a consequence of not knowing where to park, we parked on the street, being totally unaware that it is a permit area (we certainly couldn't see any signs to tell people not from the area that this is the case) and therefore received a parking ticket at 9.15pm. Not a great experience.
