I spent 20 minutes driving round in circles trying to find number 40 - including asking 2 bin men on Trowbridge Road who don't know where it was - and in the end had to find an alternative car park for £20.

Excellent - a 5-star experience

I am disabled and cannot walk very far so I was delighted to find this space available that was a short way from our intended venue, the V&A Eastern Storehouse, plus it was an extremely reasonable price too so we were delighted with your company as is our usual experience. I booked this space and my partner agreed that on the day he would drop me at the venue first, then he would go to find the space, park up and walk back to the V&A to reunite with me again so this was what we did. Before too long my partner was back at the V&A and we enjoyed a brilliant time looking at the David Bowie Collection. Afterwards he would walk the route in reverse, fetch his car and drive back to me. However, when my partner turned back up in his car he had a face like thunder so I asked why. He explained that as he went to walk into Trowbridge Road, London E9 5LD he was stopped by a man who wanted to know what his business was in that street. My partner informed him we had rented a parking space but the man informed him they were holding a carnival there at any minute and no vehicles were allowed in or out. He had noticed the street being blocked off with barriers and explained my plight of not being capable of walking with him and that I was currently stranded at the venue we’d visited so he must get back to me as quickly as possible. The carnival man had quite a crowd gathering to see what was up and all were adamant that the road was now blocked off from traffic. This went on for some time and meanwhile I was scanning up and down the road getting anxious as to where my partner could have got to as he had been gone for ages. After some time and much discussion my partner eventually gained the people’s sympathy and the carnival organiser gave the order for the relevant barriers to be temporarily lifted out of the way so my partner could drive his car out and return to me. Obviously this caused both of us and the carnival people considerable stress. The man that had originally protested when my partner asked to leave kept stating that the residents had all been informed and he did not know how this booking could have been placed in the circumstances. We have no idea whether it is true that they made sure all residents knew about the carnival nor do we wish to place the blame on the people we rented the parking space from. We are extremely grateful that they did. Instead I just felt we should inform you of what could have been a worrying moment if it happens to somebody else or a disaster were it to happen to someone who had left their medicine in the vehicle. My partner simply walked back along the same route he had used originally yet the route was now blocked. He asked me to include that had he not been able to appeal to the organiser’s better nature he would have no clue of an alternative route. He is useless with directions at the best of times in places he is familiar with let alone London of which he knows very little. In the end it worked out in our favour eventually and they let him in his car, exit the street. We thought it best to mention our plight in the hope that it won’t affect other customers. As this proved to be a temporary hitch please know that I am not complaining. The space itself was ideal for our needs. I’m not sure if you can use my story to ask your renters to be aware of this kind of incident happening or not but if it would help please feel free to use my story anywhere that it might be useful.
