Gateshead Wilko Car Park

Great cheap parking.

Major issues finding it. Suggested download of an app didn’t help either Lost ages driving around.

minimal relevant information of the exact location of the carpark in an area of carpark options. Exacerbated by an out of date photograph of a 'wilkinson' building and the description 'wilco carpark' which was inaccurate. The carpark was in a one-way system which exacerbated the above issue wasting around 30 minutes and increasing the stress. It was difficult to confirm location was correct once parked

Not used as asked for nr Ne11rf and only realised on morning that parking given and paid for was in Gateshead!!! Not Newcastle, so didn't use it and wasted my money, obviously not easy to use. Not impressed

We got to the parking but we're not sure that it was the address though the postcode and three words were correct. It just did not look right as it looked very insecure to leave the car there overnight. We drove around and asked a taxi driver if was a good idea to leave the car there overnight....he said if I were you I would definitely not do that We decided to not park there at all as we did not want to risk the car overnight and instead paid to park at the hotel we were in though it meant the price was three times more

Easy to book

It is no longer the Wilko carpark as that has ceased trading - Google has it as the APCOA Main City Centre East carpark at the Interchange Centre. However, the what3words address to the entrance was all that was required, and some of the other comments that it was up a steep slope. It was an otherwise good place with plenty of spaces and was cheap, safe and secure for a whole weekend parking very close to the city centre.

The postcode takes you to the bus entry so you need to go around the back.

The parking was easy to find once you knew the what3words location and the fact you went up a steep slope on entry. It is the interchange car park not Wilco or Poundland.
