Simple and straightforward

It was great but I did have to email you because the Hotel wasn't open. So I was concerned everything was ok regarding parking.

A simple, quick and cheap way to leave your car over a long weekend.

Thank you. Great location with plenty of spacious parking available. It's also just an 11-minute walk to the airport, making it very convenient.

So easy found a parking space and walk not to far from airport

Have used this car park mamy times but on the last occasion the price has gone up dramatically. I have been told that this hotel is being used for other purposes other than a hotel, though, so that must be the reason. I will not be using again until its opened back up as normal.

It went smoothly on the whole. However, there could've been signs saying the hotel had no entry and we had to be told by someone behind a wooden wall to just park up and go!

I booked online to park at the Holiday Inn Express Cardiff Airport and whilst I knew from the initial booking that the hotel was closed "for refurbishment" I expected it to be a well-run professional experience looking at the pictures online. The instructions said to find a space, park your car then go to reception to register your car and book it in (so that they knew you were there and didn't fine you for illegal parking). Arrived just before 7:30am to a tiny car park as the main part of the car park and the hotel were closed off behind large metal barriers with netting covering them so you couldn't see in. Luckily as I arrived someone was opening the barriers to let someone in/out so I asked about booking in at reception. The person I spoke to said in a rather aggressive way "you no come in, hotel closed" to which I said that I had paid for a booking for a car space for 4 days. He obviously didn't speak English and another man approached me with the same attitude. Said the same thing again and he obviously spoke a little more English than the first man. He asked to see my parking confirmation and briefly glanced at it and said I didn't need to go to reception - "all ok - you go now, reception closed". I left my car with a lot of dread as there weren't many other cars there. Upon return to my car after 4 days as I approached the hotel grounds there were several police vans and policemen guarding the area. It appears this hotel was closed as it is being used for immigration purposes (not for refurbishment as the hotel and police were saying) and as a solo female I felt slightly uncomfortable about the atmosphere but thankful the police were there. I would not have wanted to return to my car if it was later in the day and dark. Thankfully my car was still there. Overall an uncomfortable experience I won't be repeating. Next time I will use the proper airport parking - even if it is a bit more expensive.
