Club Information

Club History
Oxford United F.C. was founded in 1893 as Headington, later becoming Headington United in 1911 and finally Oxford United in 1960. The club joined the Football League in 1962 and rose rapidly through the divisions in the 1980s.
Their greatest achievement came in 1986, when they won the League Cup, defeating Queens Park Rangers 3–0 at Wembley. Oxford also spent several seasons in the top flight during this period, enjoying one of the most successful eras in their history. Known as The U’s, the club has a passionate local following and continues to be a strong presence in the Football League.
About the Kassam Stadium
The Kassam Stadium has been Oxford United’s home since 2001, replacing their historic Manor Ground. Located in Littlemore, south of Oxford city centre, the stadium has a capacity of around 12,500.
The stadium is distinctive for its three-sided design, with one end currently open. It has hosted football, rugby, and community events over the years. Plans have been discussed for future relocation to a new purpose-built stadium, but the Kassam remains the heart of matchday life for Oxford fans.
