Newcastle United Football Club, founded in 1881 as Stanley F.C., merged with Newcastle East End in 1892 to form the current club. Based at St James' Park in Newcastle, the club competes in the Premier League with four league titles and six FA Cups. Their most successful period was from 1904 to 1910 when they won three league titles and an FA Cup. Recently, the club has seen a revival after being taken over in 2021 by a consortium led by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
