The Birmingham 2026 European Athletic Championships heads to the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham between 10th and 16th August, bringing world-class track and field to the Midlands.
Watch Europe's best athletes go head-to-head, from sprint finals to field event showdowns, every session counts. We offer two official parking options: Park and Ride and Park and Walk.
Park and Ride
Park and Ride is available for each session, operating from Bescot Stadium, Walsall (Bescot Stadium, Bescot Cres, Walsall WS1 4SA). Park and Ride operates throughout the Championships, with return bus travel included within the price of parking.
Our official Park and Ride at Bescot Stadium is a 25 minute bus journey, with 650* spaces available for each session. Car parks open 2.5 hours before each session, and close 2.5 hours after each session, giving you plenty of time either side of the action.
Park and Walk
Park and Walk is available for each session, operating from Aldridge Road Recreation Ground (access via Sandy Lane), approximately a 45 minute walk or 2.3 miles to the stadium. Park and Walk operates throughout the Championships, offering you secure parking close to the stadium.
Park and Walk will open 2.5 hours before each session, and close 2.5 hours after each session, giving you plenty of time either side of the action.
Important: Choose the right pass
Morning passes cover the morning session only – you'll need to move your vehicle before the evening session. If you're attending both sessions, book a Morning + Evening pass instead.
Already booked morning only? Please fill out the following form to cancel your existing booking with a full refund and rebook using the 'Morning + Evening' session option.

Frequently Asked Questions

Official parking for the European Athletics Championships is available at two sites, both bookable in advance with JustPark:

Park and Ride at Bescot Stadium (Walsall WS1 4SA) — return bus travel to Alexander Stadium included, just off Junction 9 of the M6.

Park and Walk at Aldridge Road Recreation Ground (access via Shady Lane, Birmingham B44 8NX) — park and walk the 2.3 miles (around 45 minutes) to the stadium.

Both car parks open 2.5 hours before each session and close 2.5 hours after it ends, giving you time either side to reach the stadium and get home.

Yes — we'd strongly recommend it. Spaces are limited and popular sessions sell out, so book ahead to secure your spot — especially for the two Thursday 13th August sessions (7 and 8), where Park and Ride space at Bescot is more limited. Park and Ride includes return bus travel to Alexander Stadium; with Park and Walk you make your own way on foot.

It depends which option you choose. The Bescot Stadium Park and Ride is around a 25-minute bus journey from Alexander Stadium, with return travel included in your parking price and buses running throughout each session, so there's no long wait either side of the action. The Park and Walk at Aldridge Road Recreation Ground is a 2.3-mile walk to the stadium — roughly 45 minutes on foot — so it's a good option if you'd rather stretch your legs than wait for a bus.
