Club History
Derby County F.C. was founded in 1884, originally as an offshoot of Derbyshire County Cricket Club. The club quickly became one of the early members of the Football League, joining in 1888. Derby has a proud footballing tradition and is one of the oldest professional clubs in England.
The club’s golden era came under Brian Clough and Peter Taylor in the early 1970s, when Derby won the First Division title in 1971–72, and again under Dave Mackay in 1974–75. Derby County has also enjoyed several strong cup runs, including reaching the FA Cup semi-finals multiple times. Known as The Rams, they have a passionate following and a storied football heritage.
About Pride Park Stadium
Pride Park Stadium has been the home of Derby County since 1997, replacing their historic Baseball Ground. Located close to Derby city centre, the stadium has a capacity of over 33,000.
Built to modern specifications, Pride Park quickly became known for its excellent facilities and atmosphere. Over the years, it has hosted England international matches, youth games, and non-football events such as concerts and community gatherings.
