Burnley Club History
Burnley FC, known as "The Clarets" were founded in 1882 by former rugby club members. They became one of the 12 founding members of the Football League in 1888 and have played at Turf Moor since 1883. The club has achieved notable success, including two league titles (1920-21 and 1959-60), an FA Cup win in 1914, and two FA Charity Shields. Burnley is also one of the few clubs to have won all four professional English football divisions. After several years of fluctuating divisions, they re-established themselves in the Premier League under manager Sean Dyche. Burnley returned to the top flight in 2023 after an impressive Championship season.
