Central London Charges to Know Before You Drive
Hyde Park sits inside London's charging zones, so factor these in alongside your parking:
Congestion Charge: £18 a day, Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and weekends and bank holidays 12pm to 6pm. Evening visits that start after 6pm fall outside these hours.
ULEZ: £12.50 a day for vehicles that don't meet emissions standards, applying 24 hours a day across Greater London.
Check your vehicle on the Transport for London website before you travel, as exemptions and holiday-period changes can apply.
Which Gate? Where to Park for Each Entrance
Winter Wonderland has four gates, each close to different attractions. Choose the gate that suits your day, then park on that side of the park:
Find parking near Marble Arch for the Red and Gold Gates. The Red Gate (east) is the closest entry for Santa Land and Thrillville, while the Gold Gate (north) leads to the Arctic Circle and Luminarie Lane. Marble Arch has spaces from £2.90 an hour or £14.70 a day.
Reserve a space in Paddington for the Gold Gate. Paddington sits close to the north side of the park and is a practical option for a quieter approach to the Gold Gate.
Book parking in Mayfair for the Blue Gate. The Blue Gate (south) is nearest to Skater's Corner, the Ice Rink and the Circus Megadome, and Mayfair puts you within easy reach of Hyde Park Corner and Green Park.
Park in Knightsbridge for the Green Gate. The Green Gate (west) opens onto the Bavarian Village and Market Square, with Knightsbridge spaces from £2.30 an hour or £15.40 a day.
Beware the Residential Streets
Streets around Hyde Park in Mayfair, Knightsbridge and Bayswater are mostly controlled by permit zones, and parking there without the right permit risks a Penalty Charge Notice. A confirmed booking in a car park or on a private driveway means you can enjoy the evening without checking the clock. Always enter your registration correctly when you book.
