Liverpool River of Light 2026: Where to Park for the Waterfront and City Centre Light Trail
Ten nights, 13 glowing artworks and no tickets needed. River of Light Liverpool runs right through the October half-term, so waterfront spaces go fast once the lights switch on. Book ahead and head straight into the glow instead of circling the Strand.
Now in its ninth year, the free trail stretches from the waterfront into the city centre, taking in Exchange Flags, Williamson Square, St Paul's Square and a large-scale projection on the Wapping Dock Wall. Look out for interactive highlights like Dream Herd, POP! and LOOP, all inspired by the 2026 theme, "Together".

Where to Park for River of Light Liverpool
With no fixed start or finish, the best place to park depends on where you want to begin the trail. Pick your starting point, then book nearby:
Park near Royal Albert Dock to start at the southern end of the waterfront, close to the Wapping Dock Wall projection. Public toilets at the dock are open until 8pm.
Find parking near Pier Head and the Royal Liver Building if you'd rather begin beside the Three Graces and work your way along the Mersey.
