Keeping Christmas traditions alive during covid

While we're celebrating remotely we're working hard to keep our Christmas traditions alive, with a very special Secret Santa for 2020. Learn more in the next instalment of Under the hood.

Covid has touched every part of the way that we work in 2020, so when we started planning for our Christmas party this year we knew that it wouldn't be quite the same. But in tweaking our traditions, we've stayed true to our values and found even more reasons to be proud of our fantastic team of JustParkers.

Our Christmas party last year was an event to remember. Gathering the whole team in our new Camden office, our Exec team took the lead on distributing Secret Santa gifts, with the whole team involved.

Because of the impact of covid, we knew we would be celebrating remotely this year, so we needed to find a new way to keep this tradition alive. So instead of exchanging physical gifts, this year we've matched up the team and encouraged our Secret Santas to make a donation to a charity in their name.

And boy, did they come through. The team clearly put a lot of thought into choosing charities that would mean something special to their recipient.

There were over 50 amazing charities donated to by JustPark - but just to highlight a few:

Action for Children - helping children grow up safe and happy.

Beam - giving homeless people a career, pride and true independence

Mind - for better mental health

Chain of Courage - support and help families of children with cancer

We'll still be celebrating together, too - over Zoom, of course - with a cocktail masterclass and remote escape room to keep us entertained. But having the chance to share our festive good wishes and give back to those who need it most at this special time of year has made the 2020 Christmas celebration truly an event to remember.
