Great car park when staying at Travelodge central maidenhead

Overall this was a great parking option and definitely one I will use again. Very close to the station, plenty of space, reasonably secure. However … for first time users the information provided to identify the correct place to park was very poor. The entrance (no barrier - it was permanently open) was easy to find, but initially leads to a surface car park - called Clock Tower Car Park. That was full. But there was a ramp down to an underground level that had plenty of spaces. This level appears to be run by a different operator - ParkBee. I called and was told that was the correct place to park. But if there had been spaces on the surface level, I would have parked there without knowing I was in the wrong car park. But great support provided by the JustPark operator.

The car park name differed to what was on my booking. There were two car parks, one on street level called Clock Tower and one underground one called King Street. My booking information listed it as King Street and had barrier instructions. When I tried to get through the barrier it said I was too far away and it wasn't recognised. I called Just Park and explained and was told my booking was doc Clock Tower car park on the system, despite my booking not saying this and giving me instructions for the barrier car park operated by Park Bee which had the Just Park logo on it. I was told to park in Clock Tower despite the signage not staying it had anything to do with Just Park and was ANPR operated. I asked repeatedly if I'd get a parking ticket as it was clearly a pay and display car park not affiliated with Just Park judging by the signage and was told that's where my booking was for. I'm still not sure whether my booking was incorrect or the information telling me to park in the Clock Tower overground carpark so I may well get a ticket in the post from the ANPR system as there was no way of me getting through the barrier and accessing the part of the car park my booking confirmation seemed to suggest I should be parked in. The customer service wasn't great and after a long drive with a motorway closure resulting in being delayed significantly with a young child it made it very difficult as a situation. I booked the parking well in advance and have had very good experiences with Just Park before but this was a really stressful end to a stressful day. I'm just hoping there's no parking penalty through the post in the coming weeks for parking where I was told to. There was no barrier down into the car park and could be easily accessed from the street so didn't feel very secure despite supposedly having barrier entry for security.
