Reviews about this space

Sharon D24th April 2024
I booked car parking for 2 hours in Stewart Aparthotel Car Park in the centre of Edinburgh a day in advance to ensure I had a parking space. It was not until payment was made that I was informed that in order to get to the parking space I would have to use a car lift to get access to the parking space. If I had known this in advance I would have booked elsewhere. Perhaps that is why they don’t tell you this until you make a payment? The lane that I had to drive up to get entry to the car lift was blocked by large delivery van for 14 minutes. According to the driver it is a services road and he is allowed to block it for as long as needed to make his deliveries. The other end of the lane had been closed off- I was informed this was for work to be carried out by a utilities company, so I had no choice but to sit and wait. When the van driver finally did move I was then faced with trying to get my car into a tiny car lift without causing any damage- not an easy task as this involves a 90 degree turn into the very small lift. It took a few manoeuvres in order to achieve this without damaging my car or the lift. Scratches and scrapes are evident along the interior of the lift - likely evidence of other cars that have struggled to do this. Once in the tiny lift my next challenging task was to open my car door in order to get out the car to press the button to move down one floor- again not an easy task given the lack of room. On reaching the parking floor I was not surprised by this point to find that the parking spaces are very narrow. Luckily few cars were parked in this area at that time making this a bit easier. By this time I was running 20 minutes late. - Not the convenient parking space I thought I was paying for! On returning to my car and using the car lift to get out of the car park I was unable to drive out of the car lift as a different delivery van had parked partially across the exit. Again more delays in waiting for the driver to return to his van to ask him to move his vehicle. Given the challenges and delays involved in accessing this car park my advice would be to avoid. I certainly won’t be using them again.

Meanuvering into carpark lift can be challenging for some. Easy to make reservation from JustPark.

No warning regarding the fact that this Parking has a really small entrance and has to be done through an elevator. It was not ideal for my car which was not that big... Could have lead to damage the car and elevator.

Never park at this place!!! Very hard to find it and very hard to park your car, the entrance is very narrow!!!!!

Horrendous car park - negative reviews do not do how awful it is ANY justice. Our car is an Audi so not overly large; we had huge struggles getting the car both in and out of the car lift. Once you're in the car lift after much negotiation and stress, there's then the most minimal amount of space to turn your car to get in, and if you manage not to scrape your car you're definitely one of the lucky ones, the walls are covered in marks where people have clearly banged their cars consistently. Will not be booking again. AVOID at all costs.

Would not recommend if you are driving a 7 seater. Thankfully it worked fine for my VW Sharan, this time, but if I knew how tight the spaces were in the elevator and the turning point in the basement, I would have paid more to park elsewhere.

I managed to get in and out despite the fact that my car is a suv, but it was very convenient as it was around the block from Tiger Lily.

Didn't realise the entry would be so tight. I have an estate car and have scratched my door handle and the side of the car trying to get into the lift. Would use again now that I know what I'm doing. But a real pain
