Parking Tips for the Ladies' Doubles Final at Wimbledon — July 2026
Everything you need to know about parking, road closures and getting to SW19 for the Ladies' Doubles Final on Sunday 12 July 2026.
The Ladies' Doubles Final: What to Expect on Finals Sunday
The Ladies' Doubles Final takes place on Sunday 12 July 2026 — the closing day of The Championships — and opens play on Centre Court at 1:00pm, ahead of the Gentlemen's Singles Final at 4:00pm. Gates open at 10:00am, so doubles fans get the full Centre Court finale day if they arrive in good time.
This is the 139th Championships, and 2026 is the first year matches feature video reviews. More than half a million spectators pass through the Grounds across the fortnight, and the final Sunday brings the tournament to its climax with some of the largest crowds of all — so it pays to arrive early and unhurried.
Tickets for the Ladies' Doubles Final
The Ladies' Doubles Final is played on Centre Court, so a Centre Court ticket for Sunday 12 July — the day of the Gentlemen's Singles Final — is your seat for the doubles too, and you'll be settled in from the doubles at 1:00pm right through to the singles at 4:00pm. Most were allocated through the public ballot, which closed in late 2025. If you're still hoping to get in, it's worth knowing that The Queue does not release Centre Court tickets in the last four days of the tournament — and the final Sunday is the very last day — so queuing won't get you a Centre Court seat.
You may still find Grounds passes, or a returned show-court ticket at the resale kiosk inside the Grounds (resold cheaply, with proceeds going to charity). If you've already secured your seat, your only remaining job is getting there smoothly.
Wimbledon Road Closures on Sunday 12 July
The All England Club sits in a largely residential area, so Merton Council enforces strict access controls on match days. On finals Sunday, expect the following:
Roads are closed to most motor vehicles from 8:30am until 11:30pm, with exemptions for emergency services and a short list of permitted vehicles such as residents, care workers, taxis and event traffic.
The main closure zone runs along Church Road around the club's gates, together with Somerset Road, Marryat Road and Bathgate Road, plus surrounding residential streets including Beltane Drive, Castle Way, Lincoln Avenue, Oakfield Road and Seymour Road.
There is no entry into Marryat Road from High Street Wimbledon, and no entry into Somerset Road, Calonne Road, Parkside Avenue or Marryat Road from Parkside.
Across Wimbledon Village, parking bays are suspended and payment terminals switched off from 8:30am to 8:30pm.
The 493 bus is diverted throughout The Championships — check TfL for the current route.
Significant congestion is expected between 9:00am and 9:00pm, especially around Southfields Station, Wimbledon Village and the approaches to Church Road. Merton Council publishes an up-to-date map of restricted roads on its website.
Where to Park for the Wimbledon Ladies' Doubles Final
There's an important update for 2026: there are no on-the-day parking sales at the official Wimbledon car parks, other than the Park & Ride facility at Morden. Every official space must be pre-booked, so turning up without a reservation simply isn't an option.
The most reliable way to guarantee a space close to the Grounds is to book Wimbledon Parking in advance through JustPark. Many sit outside the main closure zones, and booking early means you skip the last-minute scramble on the busiest day of the tournament. Three approaches work well:
Park near Southfields (SW18). Southfields is the station most spectators use and the closest to the club, with an easy 10–15 minute walk to the Grounds. JustPark has spaces on the residential streets nearby, starting from around £1 per hour.
Park in Wimbledon Village (SW19). A short stroll to the club and away from the worst of the traffic — ideal if you want to make a day of it with lunch or a drink in the village before the tennis.
Park further out and take the tube. To skip the immediate SW19 area altogether, book near a District Line station and ride in. Earlsfield, Putney and East Putney all have good options.
Booking through JustPark also lets you filter for EV charging, step-free access, CCTV and covered parking — and it generally works out cheaper than leaving things to the last minute.
Using Public Transport for the Ladies' Doubles Final
Wimbledon is one of the easiest major venues in London to reach by train, and pairing a parking space with a short hop on the tube is often the least stressful option.
Southfields (District Line): the closest station, around a 10–15 minute walk, and the default arrival point for most spectators.
Wimbledon Park (District Line): open, but a longer walk of roughly 25 minutes.
Wimbledon Station (National Rail, District Line and Tramlink): about 20–25 minutes on foot, or take the shuttle bus that runs from Somerset Road to the tournament entrance.
493 bus: diverted during The Championships, but still handy if you're staying nearby.
What to Bring for Finals Sunday
With the doubles at 1:00pm and the singles to follow, the final day can be a long one in the sun — or the rain, as it is a British summer:
Comfortable, layered clothing and a waterproof.
Sun cream and a hat, especially if you're spending time out on the Grounds.
A power bank for parking apps, TfL journey planning and any queue cards.
Food and drink if you like — you're welcome to bring your own, and alcohol is permitted in moderation.
Rent Out Your Driveway or Parking Space for Wimbledon
If you live near the All England Club and have a driveway or off-street space sitting empty, finals fortnight is one of the most profitable times of year to list it. Demand around Southfields, Wimbledon Park and the village far outstrips supply, and listing with JustPark is a simple way to earn extra income while helping visitors reach the tennis — and taking a few more cars off the surrounding streets in the process.
Plan Ahead for the Ladies' Doubles Final
A little planning takes the hassle out of the day, so you arrive on time and relaxed for the grand finale of the sporting calendar. With 2026 shaping up to be a huge summer of sport across London, JustPark spaces are going faster than ever. Reserve yours early for Sunday 12 July — and the only thing left to think about is the tennis.
