JustPark Integrates With Apple Pay

Just when you thought we were already perfect: You can now use Apple Pay on JustPark! Result!

Do you remember the first sci-fi film you ever saw? We do. The year is 1989. The film is Back To The Future II, our parking startup is just a twinkle in the milk float’s eye, and the film features a fingerprint scanner lock on a door.

It’s now 2015 (the year Marty travelled to in the Delorean. Goosebumps). The future is here, and biometric technology is the reality of the everyday. Apple Pay is the latest fingerprint scanning story to hit the headlines, and we’re thrilled to say that JustPark was one of a select bunch of companies chosen by Apple to showcase its wizardry for the launch of Apple Pay UK, alongside the likes of Pret, Boots and Uber.

What is Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is a new category of service that transforms mobile payments with a new way to pay. With your fingerprint. It’s easier, more secure and more private than the usual method of trying to remember the CVV number from the back or front of your card, failing, trying to find your card, failing, and going to the shops to pay with lumps of metal instead.

When you add a credit or debit card to Apple Pay, the details aren’t stored on the device or on Apple servers. Instead, a unique device account number is assigned, encrypted and securely squirrelled away. Each transaction is authorised with a unique dynamic security code, so you can forget about the security code from the back of your card. Sweet mercy!

How does Apple Pay work on JustPark?

You can now pay for your JustPark booking in literally under a second with the mere press of a finger. Head to the iPhone app (don’t have it? It’s free! Get it here) and browse for fuss-free parking as you would normally. Apple Pay’s Touch ID feature means there’s no need to faff around with lengthy account forms or repeatedly type in shipping and billing information, and anyone with an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 can get a piece of the action.

JustPark founder Anthony Eskinazi commented on the announcement: “Integrating with Apple Pay will make paying for parking while on the go quicker and simpler than ever before, letting drivers get on with the things that matter to them.”

Amen, Anthony. That’ll be our Back To The Future marathon then.
