How a Coventry community football club turned the pitch next to CBS Arena into its biggest fundraiser
Christ The King FC, a volunteer-run community football club next to Coventry's CBS Arena, now runs parking for every Coventry City home game and major concert through JustPark, with our Event Support Team (EST) handling signage, onsite management and vehicle check-in on the day. Parking is the club's largest fundraising stream.
The challenge
Christ The King FC sits on one of the closest off-arena car parks to the CBS Arena in Coventry, home of Coventry City FC. With 35 teams, more than 450 members and players, every penny the club raises pays for kit, pitches and keeping membership subscriptions low.
Fifteen years ago, that meant collecting cash on the gate on match days. Fans no longer want to roll up and pay. They want to pre-book before they leave the house. And as a fully volunteer-run organisation, the club had neither the manpower nor the parking expertise to build that experience itself.
Previous methods meant the club had little visibility into what was selling, at what price, and when. Pricing was conservative. Reporting was thin. And the team had no easy way to flex capacity, critical for a community site where pitches need protection in bad weather.
The solution
When JustPark acquired BigParking in 2026, Christ The King began selling via EventPass: JustPark’s pre-paid digital parking pass for individual events.
On every Coventry City home game and major arena concert, parking goes on sale through the JustPark marketplace ahead of the event. Drivers register their plate, pay in advance and arrive with a digital confirmation. EST handles everything on the ground: signage, onsite management, vehicle check-in, and ANPR-led parking when match days and other club activity overlap.
Through JustPark’s Luna dashboard, the club can see exactly how many spaces have sold and at what price, and work with the JustPark team to release more pitches as inventory tightens, always balancing event revenue against pitch protection and member access.
Key outcomes
Event Parking is now the club’s largest single fundraising stream
Concert weekends drive scale: the recent Take That residency pulled 500–800 cars a night across three consecutive nights.
Pre-paid bookings replaced cash on the gate, removing manual takings, queuing and reconciliation for volunteers.
Real-time booking visibility via Luna gives the chairman, treasurer and ops volunteers a single view of every event without counting cars.
"It allows us to buy the latest equipment and keep subscriptions for the members down. We've got one of the lowest subscriptions around, so it opens up sport, and physical activity, to a load more people who might not otherwise be able to afford it." — Leon Sloyan, Administrator, Christ The King
Why it works for the club
What Christ The King raises through parking does real work in the community. It buys new equipment, keeps the pitches playable and, critically, keeps subscriptions among the lowest in the area, so cost never has to be a reason a child stops playing.
It works because the model fits the club. EventPass turns the asset they already own into pre-sold inventory. JustPark sets and tests the pricing. EST runs the day. The club stays focused on its 450 members.
"Pricing is the magic formula, the returns we've been getting since JustPark are far more significant” — Leon Sloyan, Administrator, Christ The King FC
What’s next
Christ The King is just one event cycle into selling EventPass. Take That was the club’s first full JustPark-run event, with Coventry City’s Championship run-in still selling through on the legacy BigParking platform. From August, every Coventry City home game and arena concert at CBS will sell through EventPass.
