Groundlings Theatre Car Park

There was not a space to park in the actual car park itself initially, there were 4 spaces at the front of the theatre but once your car was parked you would have been at risk of being blocked in. As a last resort, I had to ask a tradesman that was putting up signs within the car park to move his vehicle to enable us to park as we had a ferry to catch. Incredibly stressful, definitely not ideal.

The Car Park was full when we got there at 7.45am. It was a mess with rubbish littered around the site visibly at the entrance gates and beyond the stage door.area. There were supposed to be a few parking bays on the front forecourt but there was a pedestrian guardrail in front. There were no marked bays showing parkIng alongside the wall instead of face wasn’t obvious on so you easily get blocked in as the guardrail prevented exit. It didn’t appear legal to park there as there was no dropped Kerb on the pavement. It was very odd.

I had to park on a pavement which they were calling a car park and because it was so small, we were all getting stuck in there because the way to get out was only the width of a pavement which is the same width as a car! Absolutely ridiculous.

Contact details on website is very poor, email them as I had an emergency had to go home earlier as husband forgot angina medication and got no reply. Wasted 2 days of parking fees. Only wanted to post dated the parking or refund but no one bother to reply. No local number to call how to contact them for emergencies.

Great location for Isle of Wight ferries and Gunwarfe quay. No problems finding the location. Several spaces available to choose from. Good to support small independent theatre. Competitively priced compared to nearby council and NCP facilities.

Perfect place to park when getting the ferry to the Isle of Wight. Will definitely use again. Amazingly cheap and safe.

Really easy and an excellent location from the ferry port, 10 mins walk. Would also be good If you were going to Gunwalf for shopping.

Hassle-free and well-informed instructions as to the location, inclusing photos. Also good that a security code was not required, removing an fears that it may not work and my car would be trapped there overnight!

I'd have selected zero stars if I could! Not secure, not even a padlock on the gate that quite clearly is never shut. The actual 'car park' was a dumping ground, rubbish everywhere - old doors, pallets etc. Absolute disgrace

Great value and super convenient for a trip to the Isle of Wight - but the gate was not locked and I thought i had booked secure parking.
