Parked in the available bay - would be more helpful to clarify exactly which bay with a marker on the floor or something.

The parking space was not empty and a car was already parked there. I had to call the space owner. He wasn't available on-site. He asked me to knock on the door of the parked car owner's home and ask them to remove their car. Unnecessary hassle and waste of time and risk of running into arguments. Space was small in size for a medium size car. Worry that neighbouring cars might scratch my car.
