Single parking space outside my house in Gilesgate, about 15 mins walk from city centre downhill. Quiet avenue, have kept my own car here for many years, never any problems/worries.

Easy to find, about 10min from town centre, bit of hike uphill after walking around the sites-but that may be something to do with our fitness!

Drive worked well. We used it when visiting Durham Uni to avoid all the major road works in the City. Took about 20 mins to walk into the City/Uni area. Hilly though so whilst OK for us, wouldn't recommend if you have any mobility problems. Thank you
