If there’s one thing we love more than parking, it’s weird and wonderful facts about driving.
When it comes to jokes, the worse the better. And frankly, there’s no topic with such an abundance of low-hanging fruits as parking. We’ve curated a selection of the most forehead-slappingly awful jokes about parking ever written. Ever. We await our court summons for crimes against hilarity with bated breath.
There are some things in this life that can only be explained through the medium of owls. Getting back to your car to find a parking ticket is one such thing. For those scenarios where you don’t pre-book a space with JustPark (d’oh) and put yourself at the mercy of traffic wardens far and wide, take solace in our feathered friends, who say it so much better than we ever could.
You could be forgiven for thinking that road signs are meant to be helpful. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. It’s number four in the list of life’s greatest disappointments – right under Father Christmas, the Tooth Fairy, and that furry weirdo with the chocolate eggs.
Do you remember the first sci-fi film you ever saw? We do. The year is 1989. The film is Back To The Future II, our parking startup is just a twinkle in the milk float’s eye, and the film features a fingerprint scanner lock on a door.
It’s now 2015 (the year Marty travelled to in the Delorean. Goosebumps). The future is here, and biometric technology is the reality of the everyday. Apple Pay is the latest fingerprint scanning story to hit the headlines, and we’re thrilled to say that JustPark was one of a select bunch of companies chosen by Apple to showcase its wizardry for the launch of Apple Pay UK, alongside the likes of Pret, Boots and Uber.
Summer is finally here and we’re ready to welcome it with open, sunburnt arms. The flip flops are out, the ice lollies are in and work is on hold.
But where will you be heading to get your annual dose of sun, sea, sand or city break? Wherever you’re jet-setting this year, our very own Sam Mellor has compiled a list of free travel apps that you will not want to be without – all available on iPhone and Android. Happy holidays!
A year ago this week, we said a fond farewell to ParkatmyHouse and became JustPark. We did this to broaden our offering and reinforce a brand that’s about making parking as simple as it should be. In true birthday style, we ate a silly amount of cake, sang happy birthday (to ourselves – bit weird) and reminisced.
Friday 26 June, 2015: the hottest day of the year. It’s 12.55pm, and JustPark has just been named the winner of Richard Branson’s startup competition. A marketing spend of £250,000 is ours to play with, to bring the good news about pain-free parking to drivers far and wide. There are no nails left on any fingers at JPHQ. Our voices are hoarse from bellows of joy and the sweaty palms have turned into sweaty hugs.
Dear Android fans,
This is it. The robot uprising you’ve been waiting for.
In less than a week’s time, all eyes will be trained on a small corner of south west London as the world’s top tennis stars take to the courts to compete at Wimbledon. Pimm’s and prosecco, strawberries and cream, Cliff Richard and rain delays – the Championships are an institution, and so fabulously English that they should have a voiceover by Stephen Fry.
In anticipation of the feast of tennis to come, we’ve put together some ace (ha ha) advice on how to make the most of your Wimbledon experience.
