JustPark Founder and CEO Anthony Eskinazi has a special announcement.
Today is a special day for everyone involved here at JustPark HQ – as well as each and every one of our million-plus drivers and space owners who regularly use the service the world over.
Why? Because on this day, a decade ago, I speculatively clicked ‘send’ on a press release about a whacky new idea which I’d had – unknowingly thereby signalling the birth of our business. I then went to work as usual, thinking nothing else of it.
I had no clue that by submitting that form, I was saying goodbye to a corporate career, goodbye to an income for the next few years, and goodbye to a lifestyle of order and consistency – in exchange for one of chaos and unpredictability.
My fledgling website ParkatmyHouse, as it was known back then, was built from scratch in my parents’ attic, and duly released into the online wilderness – buoyed along by a mixture of hype, hope and sheer hard graft.
Since that moment, myself and JustPark’s dedicated team of parking pros have been working day and night to solve this age-old problem – and make every driver’s life just that little bit easier, cheaper and less stressful.
Today, we celebrate the culmination of 10 years’ hard work – a journey full of highs and lows, ups and downs, burn-outs and freak-outs, and more parking-related experiences than you could ever possibly dream of.
There have been plenty of highlights along the way – including being invited to Downing Street and Buckingham Palace, having Richard Branson in a neck hold, shaking hands and talking about the Internet with the Queen, and going on unbelievable holidays with the smartest, most driven group of entrepreneurs from across the UK.
I want to say a huge, huge thank you to everyone who has supported us, advised us and shown faith in us along the way – to my team, all the ParkatmyHouse and JustPark alumni, my friends and my family.
To our investors, partners and those who participated in our crowdfunding round; to friends, entrepreneurs and fellow businesses who have all offered valuable advice and guidance along the way.
And, more than anyone, to our users. From the early adopters of the service – the first drivers who tried parking in someone else’s driveway, and the first property owners who rented out their spare space; to all those who have joined our community since.
Thank you – your support is massively appreciated. We are forever indebted to all of you for helping to make this happen.
So without further ado – onwards and upwards! Who knows what the next ten years have in store? For now, all we know is there is work still to be done and further challenges ahead – and we’re looking forward to the ride.
Happy 10th Parkday, JustPark!
